With Transmuted CIC, and various wonderful humans who have graciously included me in the printed production of their work, I have had the privilege of working on 14 unique publications (as of April 2025, with at least 2 more publications in the works this year) – the official Transmuted journal, the first issue of Visibility Magazine, and other one-off projects aimed for transgender and cisgender people respectively.
I work as a typesetter, an illustrator, a distributor, a social media manager, and pretty much anything you can think of in the long (and sometimes exponentially complicated) process that goes into producing a print.

An Artistic Approach
I prefer to take an illustrative approach to publications, combining my artistic experience with the wonderful writers of the world.
It is not simply that illustrations help a reader manage large chunks of text, can aid in emotional expression, and even inspire some people to create their own art.
The ability to create something that people will treasure is truly valuable to me, especially in working with marginalised communities. With Transmuted, the aim is to create these publications not only to engage our international community but to create something that will be cherished by our transgender – and cisgender – audience.
While financial statistics for transgender people across the world are in competition with our cisgender counterparts, it is incredibly important for products marketed towards gender non-normative people to be worth their cost. Of course, the time that goes into the production of each issue minus the small profit that Transmuted makes from them is a big factor to why we seek financial support whenever we can.
This approach has even been used as a case study for a Master’s student’s research on the impact of art on community!
If you take a likeminded approach to any aspect of your life, then you are creating something that will linger on forever. Even if you don’t get to see it!
