About Dorian Rose

The so-called ‘Dorian Rose’ is a homo-sapiens born in the year 1998 B.C. according to the Gregorian calendar. Commonly used in their city of birth, Halifax (the one in West Yorkshire, England).
Dorian is an artist, writer, proof reader, editor, trans theorist, and graphic designer.
You can look at some of the projects they’ve worked on here.
They’re the Director of Transmuted CIC, for which have published 11 journals, and worked on countless projects from mini-festivals to a series of trans workshops.
In 2022, Dorian founded Transmuted (a CIC registered in the UK as of 2025), a non-cisgender journal that aims to elevate gender non-normative discourse by platforming work, culture, thought (etcetera) via a quarterly journal, events, alongside the usual 21st century online shenanigans.
As can be seen in the image to the right, they consider themselves to be a digital artist with absolutely no idea how to use a drawing tablet. Common knowledge dictates that a Wacom One tablet must first be plugged in before attempting to show someone what is on the board.
Unless their point was to show a blank screen, of course. We shall never know.
Qualifications:
- Distinction in MA Critical and Cultural Theory, University of Leeds (2023)
- 2:1 (68) in BA History and Philosophy, University of Reading (2020)
They wrote their MA dissertation on ‘A Transgender Analysis of Mario Mieli’s Towards a Gay Communism‘
And their BA dissertation on the question ‘Should Marxist Feminists Utilise Film as a Progressive Medium?’
